Dear x

Thank you for your letter regarding membership in the Magic Kingdom Club.

Our Club is for people working in California, whose company has more than 100 employees and an active recreation program. Your father or mother might already belong to the Magic Kingdom Club at their place of employment. If not, they may ask their personnel manager or recreation director to contact us regarding membership.

Again, thank you for your interest in Disneyland.

Ho, ho, ho!

I’ve kept an especially close eye on you this year, and I’m delighted to announce you’re once again on my “nice” list. Keep up the great work!

Here at the North Pole, my elves are busy wrapping presents, the reindeer are fine-tuning their landings, and I’ve even shed a few pounds. We’re all looking forward to making this the most magical holiday season ever!

With merriment,
Santa Claus

Dear Mr. x

Thank you for your recent query regarding Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom Club.

Membership cards are available to employees of member organizations in California having an active recreation program and employing a minimum of 100 permanent personnel. Magic Kingdom Club membership cards are not issued on an individual basis at Disneyland.

If you are employed by an organization meeting this requirement, we suggest you contact the personnel office. If membership is not available, you might ask the personnel manager or recreation director to contact us….there is no charge to you or your employer.

Again, thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

x

Disneyland
Anaheim, California

Hi

This is it! This is really it! Yesterday, today and tomorrow all rolled into one. There is nothing like it!

The only place in the world where I can stand with tears of laughter in eyes that are pop-eyed with wonder. Everything is on a 5/8 scale except our smiles. They are full scale! Such a wealth of entertainment at so little cost!

I forgot the outside world when I stepped inside Disneyland. One minute I was looking at grandpa’s tintype and the next minute I was soaring above the earth in a space rocket.

I bounced across a sandy desert in a stage coach and then watched the shores of the Mississippi glide past as I rode the mighty river boat “Mark Twain.”

My store house of memories will be overflowing when I leave Disneyland. I feel weary but wonderful because I know that some day I am going to return to Walt Disney’s fabulous wonderland of fun. Just wait until you see it.

Yours,

Pre-printed letters like these were once for sale at Disneyland.

July 27, 1970.

Gentlemen:

I would like to receive 3 adult tickets (Deluxe 15) and 2 children’s (Deluxe 15) and my check in the amount of $27.75 is enclosed.

If my membership card enclosed, entitles me to a discount please make a refund.

Very sincerely yours,

x

1970 doesn’t seem that long ago, but $27.75 for five Disneyland tickets? Today, that’s less than it costs to park two cars.

Come back tomorrow to see the response this letter received.
